As I dive into the origins of The Vision Board Project, I am transported back to a pivotal moment in my life -- a chapter written with personal battles and ultimately a transformation in mindset.
It was within the walls of CAMH that I found myself grappling with the maze of my own mind. Those days, marked by uncertainty and shadows, were where my path to success or hope was illuminated. I had always had huge dreams, big goals, but when I had been struggling for years of my life, I began to lose touch with them. At this point, I thought I had completely lost them as they collected dust. However I had began to realize that what I want is still in reach, all I needed was a way to find the ability to regain my self-identity that I had once lost. I then remembered the vision board I had made the previous year in 2022 with a friend.
The activities we engaged in at CAMH, especially the ones that allowed us to channel our emotions into tangible creations, were beacons of light in the storm. Among these activities, the terrarium building stood out. It wasn't just about crafting; it was about pouring my emotions into a tangible form, a microcosm of my journey -- a souvenir of my progress.
In the process I had realized that a creative outlet, and not just visualizing but being able to identify your dreams in a hands-on environment allows you to feel control, like they are nearing and accessible. The profound impact that visual expression could have on healing fractured spirits, the notion that one could shape their dreams and aspirations on a board became a beacon of empowerment.
Leading to, The Vision Board Project. Taken from my personal struggles and my determination to create a safe haven where others could find the same hope that I had found. The goal was simple yet profound -- to offer a platform for those who struggle to envision their lives to piece together a mosaic of hope amid the chaos.
This project isn't just about arranging images; it was about orchestrating stories of resilience. Each snip, each placement, each picture selected symbolize a person's assertion of their worthiness, their courage, and their dreams. The very act of creating these boards become a therapeutic journey, a bridge from desolation to hope.

In the future, I would like to share more about my time in CAMH and how it allowed me to open my eyes to new opportunities in my life and brush the dust off dreams that I neglected to chase. For now, this completes this blog post.
