As a teenager juggling mental illness, extracurriculars and my education, my life has been anything but monotonous. No matter how simple something may seem, every aspect seems to relate back to the way my brain was shaped by years of experiences I have witnessed.

"Hello."

Seems normal enough, right? But my mind doesn't interpret it that way, the anxiety is overwhelming.

What if they are judging me?

Should I say Hi, Hello or Hey?

Am I making this awkard?

Do they secretly not like me?

This is reminding me of a past fearful moment.

Discomfort washes over me.

While these thoughts race through my mind, who else is able to recognize this? Who is able to detect the invisible struggle of mental illness? How can I find validation for something that is so subjectively experienced by different people?

The struggles and complexities of mental illness.

Mental illnesses manifest differently, depending on the individual affected. There is no one-size-fits all explanation; it's a vibrant spectrum that defies black and white analysis. Though there may not be a heavy physical struggle, the impacts of mental illness on one's daily routine are significant.

Keeping this brief: In creating this blog and organization, I wanted to provide a spaced for those who, like me, have endured tremendous struggles with trauma and mental health. Somewhere for people to learn, connect, and discover the significance of mental health. I aim to foster a supportive community that breaks down the negative notion surrounding individuals with mental illness and inspire.
